Pilates dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs. It builds strength without excess bulk creating a sleek and toned body.
It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain.
A miracle? Not really. Developed from the rehabilitation techniques of Joseph Pilates, Pilates is a safe, sensible exercise system using a floor mat or equipment, that will help you look and feel your very best. No matter what your age or condition, it will work for you.
In a Yoga/ Stretching class, you will be exposed to both yoga and Pilates. A typical Yoga/ Stretching class will begin with traditional yoga poses and will transition to more intensive core exercises that are known as Pilates. The class will end with a wonderful relaxation time. Perfect for all ages and abilities.
These moves will improve your breathing balance and flexibility.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—five minutes or more per pose is typical.
The practice of Yin Yoga trains us in the habit of slowing down, paying attention and listening. Listening to our body, to our mind, to the soothing sound of the breath. Yin goes hand in hand with the practice of mindfulness and helps to fine-tune the various skills that bring us back to the here and now.
We learn to let go and relax , and allow the earth and gravity to open our body to our natural energy flow. It's a beautiful and gentle practice that can have profoundly beneficial effects
Do Arrive On Time. It is important to be at class on time. Arriving late interrupts the flow of a class, and it means that your body won't get the full benefit of the sequence the teacher is building.
Please turn off or silence cell phones prior to class as a courtesy to others.
I recommend that you wear comfortable clothes, avoiding overly baggy clothes which hinder my ability to assist you with proper alignment.
Please do not wear strong perfumes or scented lotions to your sessions.
Bring a towel to your session if you tend to perspire when exercising.
Disinfectant and towel are supplied to clean the mats. Always remember to clean your mat and props after your session. Thank you for helping to keep mats clean for all our participants!
